GO FAT-TIRE BIKING

Take an afternoon and head to one of the many bike trails in and around the town. Many of the trails are accessible from downtown Fernie, making it a convenient activity to fit into any schedule. With apps that provide suggested routes, trail names, and community ratings based on your comfort level, you’ll have all you need to get up and go! Bring your own bike or rent from one of the many locations in the city. As the locals here can tell you, biking is a great physical activity to increase leg strength as well as cardio endurance and can be embraced by all fitness levels. Heading out on a trail is an affordable, family-friendly activity that all ages can enjoy.

GO GOLFING

This outdoor activity has gained some traction and popularity this year, with many first-time golfers joining in on the fun. With its rugged mountain peaks and breezy forest air,

Fernie is one of the best locations to practice your swing surrounded by nature. If you’re lucky, you may even come across some local wildlife on the greens - with moose, elk, coyotes, and deer sometimes seen on these pristine courses. And who knows – maybe escaping the bustle of the town might even improve your swing!

DISC GOLF

With springtime representing new beginnings, why not try a new sport like disc golf? Spend the afternoon with friends or family learning one of Fernie’s favourite pastimes. Head to James White Park with its course length of 4,800 ft surrounded by scenic views and cottonwoods. Get competitive and challenge your friends and family to a round!
