Our summers are getting more and more popular with our perfect location close to the US border and location right on the Elk River, where you can enjoy a relaxing day fishing in Fernie.
Our Location
Our Fernie hotel and resort is located on the southern edge of Fernie, on the west bank of the Elk River and close to popular Fernie hiking trails. The highly-praised Tandoor & Grill Restaurant is located onsite at our hotel, as well as a large aquatic centre We’re only a stone’s throw from Mt Fernie provincial park with plenty of cycling and hiking trails or Maiden Lake is a short drive away is a short drive away for you to spend the day swimming (or ice skating in winter!)
Winter Alpine Sports
Head out into pristine ski and snowboard conditions at the Fernie Alpine Resort ski hill, only five minutes from our hotel. If you crave more intense alpine adventure and virgin snow, ask our front desk about incredible heli-skiing and cat-skiing tours, try out snowmobiling, or test your skills at Nordic snow biking.

During the summer months, Fernie Stanford Waterslide Resort is in the perfect location to access all the adventures Fernie has to offer. Ask our knowledgeable staff about an exhilarating white-water rafting trip on the Elk River, mountain biking on the epic trails around town and at Fernie Alpine Resort or a relaxing and scenic Elk River float trip suitable for all ages. World-Class Fishing
Fishing is also a Fernie highlight during the summer months. Our hotel is located right on the Elk River at one of the Kootenay’s most renowned fly-fishing hotspots. The river is also one the world’s greatest trout fishing areas, with an abundance of rainbow, cutthroat, brown and bull trout.
